Representatives of Kirkcudbright Branch Royal British Legion presented Jennefer Tobin, chair of Southwest Scotland RnR, with a cheque for £310 at the charity’s base in Carsethorn.

Colin Warden who is Deputy Lord Lieutenant of the Stewartry and president of the Kirkcudbright Branch Royal British Legion was accompanied by Ron Spencer and Michael McKenzie both former RAF Police.

The cash was raised at a 40s swing night at the Tides Inn in Kirkcudbright. Michael said: “The girls at the Tides Inn thought it would be a good idea to donate the proceeds of the evening to the Kirkcudbright Branch Royal British Legion. It was put to the office-bearers of the Legion that RnR would be a really excellent charity to support.”

Jennefer Tobin received the cheque at an Open Day she recently held at her home. This gave supporters of the charity to opportunity to see the accommodation RnR provides for wounded service personnel and to hear about the work which has been done this as well as future plans for the further development of the charity.
